Can we dispell with the pathetic "l33t" speak already. It makes you look like a bunch of script-kiddies. l33t speak doesn't originate from the professional hackers (very clever programmer) as some would believe, but rather started in the software cracks and piracy underbelly of the internet. After governments started clamping down on web-sites that offered illegal cracks, wares, hacks and porn a bunch of bright sparks came up with the idea of misspelling everything to make the sites difficult to search for, so wares -> Warez, hacks -> h4x0rs and porn -> pr0n, and being so very proud of their achievements they called themselves elite hackers (l33t h4x0r's) which they are typically anything but.
I have very seldom heard software professionals, or hackers using l33t speak unless it is used as a form of hassling or insult, "<sarcasm>Wow, you're so l33t </sarcasm>". Its usage in this forum is getting more prevailent and more people trying to show off how "clever" they are by using it.
If you want to prove that you are in fact an elite hacker, so to speak, why not spend your time coding something that shows off your skills or helping somebody out with problems and pointing people politely in the direction of the FAQs or Google where necessary rather than this "quiet n00b" and "I r teh l33t h4x0r" rubish.

I think you're being a little cynical. All the strife over religion would happen anyway, that's just the nature of mankind. Believing in something, anything, is better than nothing because it helps us make it through the day. I like how they put it in "the davinci code" - they're living a lie as much as the mathematician who believes in "i" because it helps him solve math problems.
