What's worse, to know that the user entered such a word, or the sequence of letters? I think it is just the same to anyone who gets offended whether finding the *'s or the actual letters.
Good point. I think that when people see the stars, it comes out as a joke. My censoring solution would be to replace the swear words with #$%^! and such.
