I've already got many of those mods for the QBNZ forums... there's mods for how many people have visited, BBCode mods (things like [align=center], [blur], [fade]...), and other really neat ones.

Just a question... Isn't the same for people to read f**k that read the whole world?? I bet that everyone knows which letters do those * hide...
What's worse, to know that the user entered such a word, or the sequence of letters? I think it is just the same to anyone who gets offended whether finding the *'s or the actual letters.
It should be up to users not to use bad words. Censoring with **** doesn't solve anything. That's MHO

What's worse, a lot of people who think themselves as £337 h4x0r$ are unable to defeat a simple text parser. Scary, IMHO.

My solution at QBNZ is to replace the bad words with completely different words, so instead of censoring with *s now a sentence would read "You are a stupid banana!" (Guess which word was censored  ). I suppose I could also censor with words that don't fit in context... ("You are a stupid went!")

You're forgetting that its the ability to read and write l33t that makes one a l33t h4x0r Hex, not some stupid ability to program. ;-)
On a serious note, why is swearing even necessary in this forum. Are peoples vocabularies really that limited these days? Once again I have to agree with Na_th_an (when are you coming to NZ man? We should go drinking sometime ;-)), users should find better ways to express themselves than using swear words.

I second this.

LOL I've sworn many times that I have to go to NZ at least once in my life (seriously), and be sure that I'll call you. "Go drinking" sounds like a nice plan
