Are there any companies that are still currently making DOS games expecting to make money by distributing it? People like us that still create DOS games like they were modern day games?
Nah. Since directx and graphic accelerators became mainstream, the speed advantage of not using windows flew out the window. The last (significant) commercial dos games were made around 1998, though some companies like apogee and lucasarts still charge for their older games.
Thats a real shame! Well ok lets try putting it another way. If someone wrote a QB Compiler for Windows with DirectX support would selling QB games become commercially viable?
There's a hundred such compilers already. Powerbasic for windows, purebasic, to a certain disgusting extent, blitzbasic and rapidq, and visual basic of course.

The thing is, though, is that none of these compilers can match that of a good C compiler like Borland's or Visual C++. And even if they picked up speed, the QB syntax will still be used mainly for hobbyist program. C is just too much of a standard, dude.
That really sux because I had a dabble in C and it was a HARD language. QB is easy, not as powerful but is great for game making. Is it possible to transfer QB games/programs into VB?
No. Blame dos vs. windows on that. There's too much of a difference between the way things are done in 32-bit and real mode. You're just going to have to port.
