I think as long as he only writes short texts in this evil red, it is ok. But when he writes a really long thingy, it would be very hard to read for normal human being eyes.
I would remove the red colouring and the :evil: emoticon as they mean angriness and rudeness and they are by all means against the most basic rules of netiquette.
