I've to develop an application that make an intensive use of databases, there's allready an old system that do the job (Dbase for Dos).
This part i think is easy, i plan to use MySql.
I need to build an interface, to handle the databases i'm considering an easy to prototype language like python, perl or java.
What do you think? Am i wrong with my choices?
You can build your own webserver on your Pc...it's not that hard. Somedays ago I did it too. Then you can code PHP with MySQL without having Internet-Connection and Webspace...
Ya, you just have to have someone GIVE you PHP, MySQL, and Xitami (or apache)

I love having Xitami (with PHP) and MySQL on my computer. It helps sooo much for debugging my code. Heh, I even have my own vBulletin on it, and every now and then I post "I M 1337 H4><0R!" to make myself feel better.
