When it exits QBasic, does it go back to the command line, or does it go back to a Windows application or desktop?

I have a feeling it goes back to Windows, 'cause that happen to me sometimes when I'm running a DOS program. Like if I go to the toilet or something, when I come back it has apparently left the DOS program and gone back to Windows. BUT, the DOS task is still active at the bottom of the screen, and if I select it, it goes back to the DOS program at the point where it was. Looks like it minimized it. Seems like WinXP has a timeout for DOS programs.

What happens to you QBasic task? Has it been terminated, or has it been minimized?

I actually had that problem for a long time. And I've got the solution, and that's why I started posting here Big Grin. Get into the properties of QB.exe, and go to Compatibility, and set it to Windows 95 or something. Works fine again! Yay!
i solved it...brought out an old 486/100 i had in garage and hooked it up with Dos and QuikBasic 4.5, hehe...just need the mouse drivers for PixelPlus 256 and Neopaint

gonna get win95 eventually when i find the cd

thanks all

Hey, what does this post have to do with your QBasic doing an exit in WinXP?

He got an old pc with a "QB friendly OS" (called DOS).
