So will the criteria be just how fun it is, or will we be judged on originality, get bonuses for small prog size, good graphics, etc.?
Count me in, provided I have the time Smile

It will probably be judged based on the criteria in the first post Tongue

Quote:aww man... i was going to enter this challenge. But i dont have a chance now, with all the 'big names' here.
heh heh

Please do compete, I often think I have a winner until relsoft comes along
Zap : ANY kind of game.

I want to point out that when I said menu keys, I didn't meant ingame menus. Like, you can't make a RTS where with several keys you scroll through a menu and with that one key you activate the option you picked. That would be wrong and outside the challenge rules. I was refering to menus where you start the game, exit it, save game or change some options, like turning on/off the sound. Just to avoid misunderstandings and disqualifications.

When the time for the challenge expires, I will collect all the entries, check them out and see if the are in order with the rules.
Then I will update all the entries on my FTP account and open a poll so that forum members can vote for their winner. Poll will, of course, have download links to all the entries and some instructions by me explaining what you should evaluate primarly. Of course, you can vote what ever you like and with your own standars. I'll just be like a judge instructing a jury.

What I will probably say is that the most important thing you should evaluate is the gameplay. Then the cleverness and
ingeniosity in creation of a concept that works great with one control key. Then comes the graphic and technical perfection of the game.

I hope you agree with this.
Agree.

Speaking about FTP: Why can't I access FTP via XP?
this challenge sounds good. If I have any time I'll use it to make a game. but the thing is, I don't know if what i plan on doing is or was already a game  oh well, I'll do what i can
Ok, I finally got off my arse and made a crappy game. But somehow, it's strangely addicting. it kinda calms me down when i'm mad, and makes me feel better when i'm sad  so now what, do I give it to someone? or post it here?
This idea is great!!! Imagine playing a game sipping a hot coffee....
Mech, post it in here. Just have in mind that challenge is long from
over. If you have time or will to improve some parts of it, don't hesistate to do them and update the latest version. Smile

This is out of topic question? Well, I don't know. Are you using a FTP manager? I'm using LeapFTP( http://www.leapware.com/ ) but on Windows 2000.

People, don't mind to upload your entries on brinkster and such kind of website free accounts and then post download links in here. I'm sure most of us know how to copy and paste a link. But for the entire evaluation poll I think it would be only fair if all entries are on one account which allows remote linking. That's why I plan to upload all the entries on my account, once when the submittion period ends. Smile
Well yeah, it was kind of offtopic, but I can't access ftp via IE in XP
and got nervous about being unable to d/l the other entries

BTW: my game is coming...
I'm currently working on the screen 7 verision but when that's
finished I will hopefully update it to rellib...
