Finished my entrie. Here some screenshots.

I won't make it public yet since I don't want for people to get bored with it before the voting. Does that mean I will include my entrie in the voting? Probably yes. I must see few other entries. Marvin's turned out to be great. My game ended up lacking any challenge and it's also short which means that replay value is low. So don't get fooled by the graphic.

There is less than week left till the end of challenge and I should mail all the people who said that they will participate. They are not posting any information about the progress on their work which is slightly worring me. So I have to check out if they are still planing to submitt an entrie and if so, on what stage of creation they are.

Ryan: I think I said this more that several times. Do with that one key anything you like! Anything!

This is the red_Marvin's entrie with a compiled code. I did some work on it and in the process compiled it. It's too fast I know. I instructed Marvin to add an option of allowing the user to set the speed. Or find a better speed reduce routine. Aside from that a nice little game.

P.S. I expect from authors to compile their codes. I compiled red_Marvin's cause I also use RelLib and because I wanted to check is there any problems during the compilation since I did
some work on the code. So this is something I won't do.
hehe Yeah, I wasn't asking if I could do that with the key, it was more of just a suggestion for anyone who may have needed some help. I put up just a small in-progress build on my page if you wanna check it out.

It's on Geocities, so you'll have to right click the link and Save Target As... Anyways, it's still needing some major work. There is no menu, no scoring, and lots of stuff needs to be tweaked. Oddly, though, I find myself playing this little demo over and over.. I think staying up too late might have something to do with it. The readme has some testing stuff I was looking for a little feedback on if possible. Thanks!

Off to check out red_Marvin's entry. = )
Suprise, suprise! I get : VESA not supported.

Don't tell me.

UGL?

FutureLib?
My entry uses good old 13h. And I won't post progress reports on it coz I wanna keep it a surprise for the deadline. Tongue
*Doh* Yeah, Future.Lib. I guess I'll look into making the screen res optional. It uses 320x200 with 16 bit, so I'll put up an 8 bit one later and hope that works for you, maybe work in some way to do it in Screen 13 with graphics quality loss.

Red_Marvin's game rocks, by the way... loved it. A lot more difficult than being able to remember your last input (Scorched Earth....). = P

Adosorken, does my demo thingie run on your comp by any chance?

I don't yet know, because as of right now, I have no way of getting anything to my dev computer. However, I can already say ahead of time that not only will it run, it will run very well because my dev computer is a P233MMX running Windows 98 with excellent realmode VESA support and is highly optimized for MSDOS applications. Smile
hehe Crossing my fingers then and continuing progress. There are a few things I can look into for optimization if necessary, I was just trying to hold off on taking up more memory atm. If you do get a chance to check it out and it goes too slow or is too choppy, drop me a line. Many thanks. Big Grin
Ryan: Liked it... really cool. Easy to "use" and it's very funny too. Smile

Red_Marvin: Nice gfx and a cool Scorched Earth-like game. Enjoyed it! Smile

Man, you guys are talented.
Great game Marvin! Loved it.
Well, I've done a lot of work since posting that little demo engine. I'm not going to release any more builds, because that one is sufficient for testing for now. (Well, maybe if I can figure out a fix for your problem, Lachie, I'll post something to see if it works.) Here's a screenshot of the latest build, though:

Sorry for the file size. Just realized that might not work b/c of Geocities. If it doesn't show, the screenie is at http://www.geocities.com/szrrya/okscreen.html. Cheers.
