These pics of the Sponge of Sierpinsky took 5 hours on a 1.8 Ghz machine :rotfl:

But it was worth going to bed and letting the machine work:

I have an excuse: there are 8000 cubes, i.e. 48000 squares, processed by the raytracing engine...
<edit>You will see I have plotted only 3 sides per cube, and that the second pic has some missing sides...This "bug" is corrected now: there are 6 sides per cube...<edit>

I also played with Perlin functions: just a lunch time picture

Wow! more great stuff... I especially like the Perlin functions Big Grin

Do you have a spot on Deviant Art? Cos if you don't, it'd be a good way to spread your talent. Smile
Well, I don't really feel like an artist when I do this... My point is rather to help others getting new ideas for their own progs: the artistical approach, if there's one in these formulas, is only, for me, something that can bring people to reading something different from what they usually read: for example, if a games progger comes on my site, he will ideas about fractals. If a mathematician comes here, he will read about Stairway to Heaven or about U2. He may also visit my site because he was looking for the text of the Gospels, and then will read "Clampdown" from the Clash...

That's the way my website will be developed, now I have tools to generate correct graphics: it will mix physics, graphics, religions, litterature, etc... I have the basis for that now, after one year learning programmation and website publishing.

My own experience has taught me that people usually do not swap from their own subject to another. I want to break that habit...
You rox. 'Nough said.

Edit: So does your site. 8)
Quote:You rox. 'Nough said.

I've read that before (Ninkazu...), but, being french, I really don't see what it means and what it does come from:lol: Can someone help...?
You rock=You are the best

You rock =>[1337 zp33x translator]=> you rox
That's french, really old fashion I admit, and that means something like "my pleasure to do that for you"...

I have corrected that cube sides' issue. It's running... So that's 48000 cube sides to be tested by the raytracer... I have set my portable so that it will not stop when I close the screen.

I will maybe get the picture before going to bed  knowing it's 7PM here and I'm going back home :bounce:
You continue to amaze me :o =P
QB has some limitations... The number of cubes for the Sponge of Sierpinsky is multiplied by 20 at each iteration: so, with an Array, single type, the largest you can do is 65535/4 cubes. That's why I plotted only the three first iterations, with 8000 sub-cubes...

I realised that most of the cubes in these pics are invisible: I will try today to clear the invisible cubes, and I hope I will be able to compute one more rank: out of the 160000 potential cubes, I hope only a little part of them will be visible. If not, well, I'll have to learn EMS/XMS Cry
EMS ain't so hard. Just check out Interrupt 67h with AX in the range of 40h to 5Dh.

You can also look at Plasma's EMS tutorial found on several locations on the internet (3 parts).

About XMS, you could refer to Int 2Fh or such (don't know exactly). But you can also consider using DPMS. (DOS Protected Mode Services, to break the 640kB barrier in protected mode).

P.S. for interrupts refer to http://www.ctyme.com/rbrown.htm
