Quote:If we keep looking at the past our eyes are blinded to the future. Wise words. If we still considered every past actions of anyone... go figure. The world would collapse. If Japanese youngsters hated Americans for fleeting Enola G.ay, if Spain and France would keep his ancient rivality, ... in sum, if past would still be keeping in account, this world would work even worse that it does.
I voted yes. Hell yeah.
Edited. I wrote E N O L A · G A Y and it changed "G_A_Y" it to HAPPY. SHAME, that's a shame. that the world G_A_Y is considered a dirty world is a great shame. This has really pissed me off. Are we still in the Middle Age?
We are creatures of the past. By the time you've lived the present, it has already passed. You see, think, feel, too late. By the time you've experienced the present, the moment is gone. Certainly, dwelling in the distant past is folly, but to ignore your past is to deny yourself a present, and pretend there is no future.
To the question "Should seph be a moderator", I have to consult my past, present and future. In the past, has he shown resolve, maturity, or any of the qualities needed to be a moderator? No. Does he have any discernable connections which might make him a worthy candidate? Doubtful. I ask my present, would there be any immediate benefit from him being a moderator? No. My future here, therefore, cannot be guaranteed to be profitable, or even neutral, under his stewardship. Indeed, my past tells me that sephs endeavors have caused more harm than good.
To deny the past and wipe the slate clean would make anyone, even myself, eligable for moderation status. That isn't a way I think privileges should be bestowed. Moderation isn't a prize for good behaviour, it's a title given to those charged with honourably defending the forum from itself. Giving it to seph would be frivilous, and I recommend against it.
Naturally though, I'm not the person making the decision though, so...
