I'm annoyed by fact that almost every 3d game has automatically closing doors (since Doom). It not matters if it's elecronic doors or simple wooden doors. Why the heck they doing this crappy thing again and again?
So enemies can hide behind the closed door and shoot you when you open it back up...
because it's really a chore to dedicate an entire button of the controller to "open door". since most 3d games in the first person are shooters, such nonviolent actions are pointless.
Eh? Usually the "action" key will open the door. (It's usually 'E' or 'R' by default.) I don't know of any recent FPS that doesn't have an action key...
Well, then the door's not automatic, foo Smile
It's automatically closing, foo. Tongue
So wait, you want a make the player manually close each and every door? You sick, sick man.

*shrug* i'm sure most games will close if you use the 'action' button on them again.
Because the people inside prefer closed doors.
So the doors automatically close. Step saved. You want to close it again, use that nifty action button while it's open.
When doors stay open, it's easier to keep track of where you (and others) have already been.
