Greetings fellow QBers:
Although I have tried to be online as much as possible, it has been difficult due to severe weather conditions. As of now, parts of Puerto Rico have been declared disaster areas, and I have been hired onto a rescue team in order to help livestock ranchers save their animals and dispose of those in poor condition. It is a lengthy operation, which may take weeks, perhaps months. It is not a job I really enjoy, I do not like to sacrifice animals, but that is my job and I must help those animals that are still alive on farms and in shelters in order to minimize the damage. During this time access to my computer will be sporatic. I had been working on a project named EqReg. It is a small program written in Visual Basic 6 which allows DOS programs, such as games and the like, to store their settings in the registry. I have donated the source code to the lostsock development group for them to continue its progress. You may download it here in order to evaluate it. I hope everyone enjoys it and finds it useful.
sheesh a sista arrives and she is already gone. were the guys bothering ya again? tell me who and i'll whack them silly Wink j/k. but yea i heard that lots of PR is flooded to the max and then some, so i feel for ya, your job does suck Sad hope everything turns out ok and you come back soon. It's kinda lonely being the only chick here, know what i'm saying? :bounce:
Haven't you heard of Meg, Amanda, Valerie, Bananna? Big Grin

i've seen Meg occasionally
I didn't know that there were chicks around here (besides the obvious ones like Amanda and Meg) [I guess I just figured Meg was a girls name...]

Oh well. And does that mean that you're leaving FOREVER? because of the flooding and whatnot in Puerto Rico? I mean, you can always come back after your job is done, right?
Bananna is a chick? wow
Sad

I hope things turn out all right, that really sucks. I havent even heard anything about it, no one's reported it...
Me neither. That's weird...I mean, a semi-hurricane hitting Toronto got front-page news...but a disaster-zone-declared Puerto Rico, and no news at all?
That's not surprising. Ever hear any news out of Guam? No? Me neither. Smile And yet it's a US territory, just like PR. Hell, even within PR, we rarely hear news of what's going on. I only recently even heard of the flooding in Mayaguez, for example. Apparently there's a huge weather system that's stuck over the island right now. The other day, it was raining so hard that it was screwing with the satellite internet connection here at college. It's flooded in some parts of Camuy, where Rhia and I live. But some other towns have gotten it much worse (sometimes it really does help to live on the coast!).

Anyways, I've gotten a couple of emails from eQuuskia, she says she won't be able to do QBOA after all so I'm likely going to keep doing it for the time being, unless someone else wants to take it over?

EDIT: Wow was this post full of screwups Sad fixed now! Big Grin
The flooding has been quite bad in PR, especially in the northeast, south and south west. It is to the point that in a town in the south, the main road going thru the town cracked in half and opened, as if it were an earthquake, and a lot of the houses are starting to sink (about an inch an hour). The metro area is flooded quite bad cuz of lack of drainage and too much cement. Some houses in that zone have had their foundations exposed becuz they were built in a sandy area. Sand+water= massive erosion. So there has been a bit of evacuation and such.

It's a shame eQuuskia wont be able to do QBOA, she has a nice writing style and is very educated imo (actually got to talk to her on the phone when she called for tech support.) But she's gotta do what she's gotta do. I wish i could go on those rescue missions but i havent the experience Sad ah well....good luck eQuuskia.
