At the request of some people, I'm reopening the forums. But I am leaving the site. One of the current admins is going to be taking over the running of the site. I wish him goodluck. I still would like to thank all the people who have made this place as fun as it has been and hope you support him and continue visiting the site.

QBasicNews is like a family... wildcard... you're like the father or something. You can't leave (lets just forget about divorce or something for now
)! You're the heart of it all! If you leave we'll be left in chaos or something.

Guys, you gotta understand. Wildcard is one tired dude, he said so when he posted. Working on a website as big as QBasicNews is a big task and it can be draining if you do it for too long.
Basically Wildcard needs some time off to recover. Frankly he deserves it! He's done a great job of maintaining QBasicNews, even when other sites (including the site I work for) was having problems updating. More important than any one site are the people themselves. Let's give Wildcard a chance to charge up his batteries. After that, whatever Wildcard does is up to him.
Anyway, Wildcard wouldn't hand QBasicNews to just anybody. I'm betting the new guy will do a good job. For now, let's just be happy and thankful for all the hard work that Wildcard has dedicated over the years, and thank him for the goodwill he has in passing the site instead of closing it entirely :king:

Thank you for reconsidering your decision. The closure of these forums would have been a critical blow the the community, and I know I was running around frantically trying to do some damage control myself as a result.
Go ahead; take a break. You've earned it over the years. Good luck with whatever you would like to do next. Most importantly though, thanks for not breaking up the community.

Even if you want a less active role, I hope that you'll at least stay with the Qmunity - your contributions have been invaluable.
Wildcard: Take a vacation. Go to NZ (that's for Oracle), Sweden (Jocke, this time), or, better yet, Canada :wink:

I'm very happy, because QBNews forum's open again, but sad at the same time. Don't leave. As Jocke says, you're really the father, it's really like a family.
