(noob? ignorant at least)

would it be concievable to create a program that used complex 3d objects using the whole trigonomic system of sines and cosines? Imagine the fighting sequences on the later final fantasies (seven and later). Is this something that could be made (albeit a far simpler version) in qbasic?
Well, syn9 is known for his brilliant 3d engines, and the idea that you talk about is certainly concievable, although hard to implement. The problem with these sorts of engines is that they often require large amounts of memory, which QB does not have a lot of, and the raw processing power of QB is also not quite good enough to get nice smooth frame rates on complex 3D action. Syn9's Oblivion engine was a perfect example of this kind of engine, although he has given up the project due to exactly the problems that I outlined above
That's why most people are still clinging to 2D in QB since it can be made far better than any 3D game in QB. Me, myself, cling to 2D as well, since 3D is both hard as unefficient in QB.
...then, from nowhere, things like http://ri-student.rmk.hamk.fi/~rimerilpa1/ appears and you begin to question your own convictions...
I can't download, do you have any screenshots Hex?

Good Lord!!!! Thats awsome. Why an I just now hearing about this?!?
because it just came out.
Not a bad game, but it uses a simple floormapping technique, not "true" 3D. A step in the right direction, for sure. It uses CosmoX, pretty polished too, but a tad too slow on this computer.
well, for a flight simulator, the landscape looks better than a lot of polygon games I've played. I say props for using the voxels.
