Memory save and load program for DOS: Possible, good idea, bad idea, etc?

Preferrably saving specific segments of memory that apply to certain programs: possible?

Would make certain games a lot more fun, with such a load feature. [*cough*] TerraScape [/*cough*]

Actually not.
The save puts you in the beginning of the level, but your weapons ammo in save game is your current ammo. With a little (more) patience you can achieve infinite ammo. (or 999 which is the maximum)

get to the two nearest bunkers

blast them

collect 2 IONs

save

load

NEXT index

as a result, you'll have 800 rounds of ION at the beginning of a first level. yeah I know, it's lazy design

An it's not that hard that you should save everywhere.
The latest levels are short but hectic.

I was on the Mars level yesterday. Still am. Sad

Takes me eons to kill all the buggers! Already have 999 for the first two, 999 snd would be sweet.
