i was playing a demo of a person's rpg (abandoned) and it played midi's! in xp! it's ran from sbmidi as well. the only thing is that it wasn't played that well though.

I didn't know there was a problem playing MIDIs in XP...
midi never plays on my comp. it works on others, except mine. i dunno, i also remember some people asking if there's a way to make midi play on xp, but maybe it's my imagination...

Well... I too have problems with playing MIDIs from QB, but not from WinXP itself. But the former problem was easily solved using
VDMSound.
well, all midi progs i play crash oh me. i thought i heard problems from other people as well.
Barok: do what Neo has suggested and you won't have sound problems in MS DOS apps and games EVER. VDMSound is cake
