In my sprite editor, I want to add an option that allows you to load up GIF files. I'm sure I could get the conversion part down, but what is the code to take a gif file, and turn it into this format:

Width
Height
Pixels...
....
....
....
....
....

I don't need the exact code actually, but mainly I need an idea how to break the gif file down...
Plasma,
Do you just Google these sites to answer our questions or have you already found them?
I've been using DeGIF6 since 1996 Smile Although I did use google to find a site that already had it so I wouldn't have to upload it....
evil question:

Does it support multiple images per gif? .... Does it support multiple palettes, (and multiple transparent colors) and global palettes (and a global transparent color)?
IIRC, yes to all.
wow! :o
degif6 has been around forever Big Grin I've used it since way way back as well.
Yeah, I pretty nobody's really bothered to make another decoder after degif6.bas. I'm curious to see the other 5 degifs though.
Ryan Broomfield (aka Qbprogger from the early years of the QB scene) had created an animated GIF viewer. However, I have no idea where to get this file anymore.
