Thats often assumed, but it isnt correct. Xemacs was created in response to the slow development of GNU-Emacs. Both XEmacs and GNU-Emacs can be run from the console, using the full screen in a similar way to the QB ide.

I can't...the search proggie doesn't work. And when I try to press ESC it just quits. Ah, well.
