After perusing this forum, I've seen many challenges involving cracking encryption, and, having never done that, I was wondering if anyone might point me in the direction of a beginners guide to, or something of the like. I get encryption well enough, but the reverse just baffels me. Thanks!

a good starting point might be the sci.crypt newsgroup...but only if you spend *at least* a few days reading before posting...
