Blitz is looking for people with Voodoo III or later video cards (or any other card that wouldn't work with UGL properly) to do some tests on which could perhaps improve UGLs VESA abilities a bit. If you're interested, please mail him at blitz@bad-logic.com if you'd like to help out.
I can test stuff on my portable's ATI Mobility Radeon IGP 345M (chip ATI RS200M), 64 MB. I still have my Voodoo III 2000 PCI, 16 MB in a W2K Box, but I can only access it every other weekend.
Well, you have my Radeon 9600 at your disposal... Good luck overall Smile
I can test it on my ATI Radeon 7000
I'd offer, but UGL works as well as any other gfx lib on my NVidia GeForce 4 MX 440. Anything above 640x480 doesn't work, but that doesn't seem to be UGL's fault.
Yeah, unfortunately after gf 3 (?) nvidia seem to have slopped real mode vesa support above 640x480 which is a shame really. Same thing happens on my GF FX but not on my GF2. Anyways, i'll make a few test and hand them out soon.
Now, most windows 9x and XP have an option for "Standard SVGA card" and can display hi-res graphics without a drive. Now how in God's green protected mode are they able to do that? I'm sure it's not available in real mode but it baffles me so anyhow...
Using VESA of course.
I'd offer, but UGL works fine for me. I assume this is a modified version?
