No damage here.

I bet ETA will have the cynism to"apologize" in a couple of days,
as they did after the blast in Hipercor 15 years ago (a shopping mall, saturday afternoon). What do they have between they ears?

The leader of Batasuna, the party supporting ETA has tried to deviate atention to Al Qaeda...

Mis condolencias por tu amigo, Nathan!
It's absolutely horrible, it always is. But what sort of bothers me is that you guys think this is much more horrible then the 200-300 people who were killed in iraq and pakistan just 1-2 weeks ago. Is a europeans life worth more?
Well , let's say i'm directly concerned with the Madrid blast. And worried because 25 years of democratic governments (left and right wing) have not been able to dismantle ETA.

But i'm also concerned with the situation in Irak. After all Spain's goverment has supported that war no one here wanted. This is on e of the reasons why i will vote left next sunday.

I think it's kinda because we know people in Spain. Two of which are members, and one of which (Nathan) is seriously affected.
We know no one in Iraq here, but if we did, we'd be very concerned about him.
An Iraqi's life is, by no means, more important than a European's. They're both human.

Umm...I didn't see any mention of that anywhere in this thread dude... :???: The only mention was that this is the worst terror attack, which I can't confirm nor deny but it is without question a bad situation indeed. People (ok so terrorists aren't really people, but still) need to really remove their heads from their asses and realize that we're all the same on this tiny little planet called Earth.
He's alive!

Thanks God. He was just missing, nice that he could contact his family. I feel better now. He was one of the 1,000+ injuried people, but luckily it was not critical, just some wounds. Anyhow, there are almost 200 people dead. I am far from Madrid, but everything is silent and people are really sad. In twenty minutes there will be a concentration of people in respect for the victims and to condemn the terrorist attack in every city. I gotta go now.

I am gonna vote left as well next Sunday, but that has nothing to do with what has happened today. Our government loves to do things without counting with the population. War, for example.
I dont think politics is an appropriate topic here. But really, I can't understand how you could do something like bomb a station full of people who did absolutely nothing and call yourself a human being. That's awful.
Well, politics is behind it. When in 1972 ETA blasted the armored car of Franco's first minister over a 8 story building, more than a half of people around spain (silently) supported them. (Not Nathan,
he was a baby then Big Grin)

Unfortunately they have not noticed the things have changed.
humans are sick... why cant we all just get along? there are many things wrong eith the world today, ill list a few:
1) taking of life: Why would someone take a life?just becuase they're not like you? thats just wrong..
2) currency: i say we get rid of currency. all it causes is greed which can lead to #1
3) humans arn't just killing oher humans they're killing everything. i say find a means of propolsion that doesn't cause polution.

(by humans i dont mean everysingle human out there)

That's a bit like communism - a great idea, but it wouldn't work.
Humans are automatically attracted to riches. No matter what riches is at the moment - it could be gold, wheat, paper or cows. If all of that is abolished and people just work in harmony, i.e. I make the computers, and give them to everybody, and he cars and gives them to everybody, and everybody has their own task, what would happen if somebody refused to do his share, and work on his own task? That's what leads to corrupt "communism" (this isn't exactly communism we're speaking of), which causes what happened with every other corrupt communistic states: murder. Which leads to #1.
As Winston Churchill once said:
Quote:Democracy is the worst kind of government, excepting all the other types.
