Since I own a relic I'm not able to play these products but I've been a lot to several Click sites and I'm pretty amazed with the graphic in those games. Splendid, beautiful retro 2D games. Yes, there's load of crap there but like every week 2-3 new really professional looking games appear on those site.

So I'm primarily interested in overall quality of MMF or Klick & Play products.

It seems that one day, if I ever get a better hardware, I'll have to spend a lot of time and painful effort in improving my graphic skills.

2D is definitely not dead. And sadly, we(QBers) don't carry the flag anymore.
I had KNP on my 486 and played quite a lot with it. Then I've tried MMF, Games Creator and KNP on my new computers.

They're OK if you don't know how to code. They run fast, handle GFX and sounds intelligently, produce slick executables...

But everyone who tries your game knows that it is done with KNP/MMF/GC.

As a passtime they are cool, enjoyable and all, but appart from that, I would not spend my time with them.

I would try this: http://fenix.divsite.net/index.php?opcion=1&lang=en

It is so easy making games with this one, but it is a true programming language much more flexible than KNP/etc. Just check out what it can do.
I have K&P but I don't use it anymore, but I've finished a game:

It sounded cool when I was thumbing through the Maxis magazine about 10 years ago.. didn't buy it though..
KNP is not bad at all if you don't know how to code and you don't want to learn and you want to make a game. The case of my brother, for example. Using KNP he has done many games. He and his friends invented lots of tricks to surpass KNP's limitations, for example the limitation of not being able to transfer variables from a level to another. They invented an intelligent system using score and number of lives... Gosh, what a group of geeks!

If you want KNP to try it out I can provide it. I think that a product that is 11 years old is... Abandoned?
Nah, not needed Smile Europress is what I call a good software house. They now give KNP for free:

http://www.clickteam.com/English/klilk&play.htm

It says "Klik and Play for schools", but I've downloaded it and it is complete. What I bought in 1994 but "for schools" attached to the title. Get it and give it a try.

(I just loaded one of my ol' games Tongue)

More software houses must do this with their old products Sad
i have that software. i never really made anything except a project with a friend where 2 dinosaurs fight eachother. with realistic injuries. Wink. yes. then it got boring. but if u want to make a simple game like pong easily, then give it a shot. thats all i have to say for now
Cool site. =)
