Yes...the Jewish holiday where we all eat Matzoh (flatbread without leaven), drink lots of wine, and generally remember the leaving of our ancestors' enslavement in Egypt, several thousand years ago.
And no, I *don't* only like it for the food...I *don't* only like it for the food...I *don't* only like it for the food...I *don't* only like it for the food...gotta keep reminding myself that...I *don't* only like it for the food...I *don't* only like it for the food...

Bad part = the cleaning. We have to get rid of every drop of Chamatz (leaven, bread, yeast...), completely. So um...that means new dishes, boiling cutlery...

Then we have these huge Seders, in which we sit down and tell the story (in Hebrew) of the going out of Egypt...and then we eat, and we sing...

Y'know what? I *do* enjoy it for the food, AND the other stuff. Big Grin
[edit]
Btw...this means I'll be gone for a while...a few days.
i saw a martha stewart special a few days ago. she prepared some food with her special guest. i dont know what a seder is tho. Sad. i have a poor vocabulary. but give me a break, i mean im only 13! well i hope you enjoy yourself during this celebration.
Hey, I'm 13 too.
A "Seder" is a Hebrew word. Literally, it means something set, or something in order. It's what we call the ordered meal of Passover.
Martha Stewart preparing Kosher (okay) for Passover food...and this whole Hollywood stylistic obsession with Judaism...it's become a "cool" thing. Meh. Sad
Yes, Zack, happy Passover to you.
I miss the good wine made from Concord grapes.
*****
yeah. happy passover.

The only time the words "martha stewart" and "cool" should be used together, is if you are quoting her about the temperature of her jail cell.

Anyway, happy passover

All those holidays in one month ^_^
Anyway, I'm actually sneaking on now, because I really should be cooking, but...

Sumojo, Aga: thanks Big Grin
Moneo: you should try the Non-mevushal (uncooked) Alfasi wine. We got some '99s this year. From past expirience, they're excellent.
Happy passover. You know zack, what I like about these kinda occassions is the food. You get to eat a lot of different kinds of food =P.
*Cough cough* Really? I hadn't noticed.
