i'd like to try making my own midi's. unfortunately i know nothing about music sheets or tabs or anything like that... i really liked pianito, but the trial version didn't save midi format and it display an annoying splash page every five key presses. how it worked is that you press a key on the keyboard, you got a sound.

any freeware that anyone would like to suggest?
Well, I use Note Worthy Composer for midi. You need to know music, so I guess it won't really be good for you. Cry It's a great program though.
miditracker
find it with google.
Now that he got his answers (hopefully), I guess I can ask: Any free programs that allows me to connect my real-world keyboard (with midiplugs) to the PC, and record what I'm playing as MIDI?

The program I mentioned in my other post will, but Fruity Loops 3.4 will too and it's alot better. It's my favorite composing program because you can export Mp3, wav and mid. You can add tons of FX, equalizers, pitch bends, slides, etc... I did the music/sfx for Pacenstein with it. I also did the music/sfx for my Tankwars game with it. I even use it to make cool drum/bass lines so I can practice playing solos on the guitar.
it works. (thanks turbo fx!!) it's not as user friendly as pianito (i don't think as good either) but i can adapt. Big Grin

oh, one last thing... where can i find an .it player?
For Windows, Modplug Player or Tracker. For DOS, XTC-Play or Impulse Tracker. WinAmp also plays ITs, but it doesn't support all the effects and some songs sound like crap.
