Here is a thought. what if there was a mod that set it so certain people could not reply to your thread. i think it would be a great way to stop flame-wars before they happen, or to keep annoying people out of your threads. the mod would also be useful in the PM function (to 'block' certain people from sending you PMs). this is just a thought but i would find it useful for myself, and know others who would also find it useful.

Bad. Then just for kicks, someone that doesn't like Nath, or Speedlemon, or whoever, will ban him from all the posts. And then a particularily disliked member wouldn't be able to post at all, except in threads started by newbies.

bad idea. for all the other reasons already said. maybe for pm's... maybe. i dont think i would use it, but i can see why someother people would want to. well. nothing is forcing them to read pms from a certain person but it would certainly make things more convenient. but someone should probably have to apply for something like this. like ask a moderator, you know, tell them whats going on just to make sure its for a fair reason. :wink:
Bad idea. Banning someone from sending you a PM is ok. But banning only a certain person from a thread is *not*. The moderators are here to keep an eye on the threads. If someones steps out of line his posts may very well get deleted.
I don't think it either would be useful. Why would you need to block PMs? I mean, the delete button isn't far away... If you (not speaking to anyone particularly) can't ignore anoying people on the net, I wonder how you manage real life...
I was thinking the same thing Zap. It's quite easy to just skip over a post you dont like and not reply to it. Certain people keep making the same type of comments and get others all stirred up. Dont react and ignore. It's that simple.

It's defently one of the most un useful mods existing. Can you a good reason to have it? Might be something I haven't thought of, but to me the delete button is enough. I've never gotton continues anoying pms from one person, have you?
