Mike, the site could use some work, mainly in the graphics. There are alot of dead space in the design, and a lot of resized, aliased graphics. I understand you are trying to make a decent original design using phpbb's template system, but you still have some work to do.

I neither support nor condemn qb45.com or qb71.com. Y'all got your own agendas to take care of, and I don't exactly think that fighting over it here is going to accomplish much. Let's see some people put their money where their mouths are and get something DONE around here. I know Rhiannon has already taken steps to assist in qb45.com's revival, and the V Planet team (including myself) is hard at work reviving that as well. It's time to get these cornerstones of the Qmunity up and running properly again.

If you were here for the past 5 years or so like fling and a few others have been, you would surely know how sad it was seeing qb45.com change into a megasite and going on a really poor quality hosting service. Which this was incidently when mike owned the site. Fortunately now qb45.com is now to something like what it used to be like, plain and simple.
Mike no offense but your site is very poorly layed out, and not very useful. It seems like any other webiste out there, just a big forum about the same topic. How about making the layout work good on mozilla and other browsers for a start.
I think the major problem is that people have grand aspirations but lack the resources to make them a reality.

mike, you cant make another qb45.com, so dont try. and you cant make a site nearly as good as that site was. the remainder of the good Qmunity resides either here, or at that neozones.com thing im banned from. and pretty much, that is where any *actual* proggers in the community will remain until the community dies forever (dont think itll happen anytime soon). so dont expect any real programmers to ever come to your site.

Who cares if you make the site yourself or you use a pre-made script at least the effort is put forth and the skill of the programmer. As long as enough effort has been put forth to make a site a good community where people feel at home, people will come.
Yes I have an interest in qb I may not program in it but that is the origional language I have ever learned and I will always consider it to be that. I think that QB is still a good language for beginners and I will continue to promote it as such.
In summery, it is not who makes the site that is important. The main importants is whoever designs the site should make it accessable for everyone and let everyone feel at home. Before you go blameing others about their sites not being orrigional like yours may be lets look at whose sites have more popularity. I know mine do not but I also know yours sure don't measure up to something like this place has, so don't go putting down pre-made sites because this forum is one. maybe not the front page, but the forum sure is right down to the skin used.
