I think you can using the GNU make for QNX. But I am not sure that QNX is entirely compatible with Linux Apps. Generally you have a different version which works on QNX.

Does anyone know where I can get apps for it, preferrably ones which don't need to be obtained from a repositary, reason being is have to transfer via cd from my familys net pc to my non-internet connected network (until I have all my wireless kit cabling is little problemo). Any assistane may appreciated because I don't want to get linux and I ahte windows.

... I can't be bothered with all these builds of the worlds biggest gigabyte monster! Qnx is reasonable simple, for a geek anyway, not easy to cock up, normal install app, and its not Microsoft, free for non-commercial users(other wise it costs somewhat more from what I can see). Fits the bill perfectly except I need help with getting apps.

owww...that hurts :-?. I didnt mean FreeBSD was a variant of Linux. I meant it was a *nix like OS.
@jatos: QNX is an RTOS which gives some really kick a$$ performance. If you *do* find a place for its apps then lemme know as well =).
