Dearest ALL of the QB45/QB71 community,

A rather splendid day to all of you ( Big Grin ! ), and I want to let you all know up front that in less than 15 days, the Athens 2004 Olympic Games will be here and televised live!! Man, I can remember some of the intense white-hot blazing passion of watching those athletes from around RATHER MANY different parts (and oftentimes, even *uncharted* areas as well! :o ) of the world compete in such popular events as swimming, equestrian, weightlifting, the javelin throw, the triathlon, and my _personal_ favorite, the gynastics! You know what, those were some of the absolute greatest memories EVER, believe me!!! ^_- !!

Also, in case some of you have not already noticed, I must confess to you that in one of my current categories of the QuickBASIC Caliber Programming Compo 2004/2005, it pertains *so entirely* to your VERY LEVEL BEST creativity of your QB game that is well-based on this whole special Olympics event that I am talking about, so it is taking on a new high in terms of such novelty in QB compos, I believe. ;*) !!

I just wanted to encourage you all today and let you know and make you all aware of something revolutionary in your QB programming as well in a most positive way, that is all. And I am *so* glad I did it on this opening post of my new thread, too!! Big Grin !

Thank you all so much, and for even more great info and stuff on the well-coming Athens 2004 games, go to this official site called http://www.athens2004.com, please. God bless us all and all of you, too, definitely!!! Cool

Hi there. I too am looking forward to this years olympics =).
To TheBigBasicQ:

Well hello there to you as well, my man! Big Grin

As for me, I am *definitely* looking forward myself to watching the Athens 2004 Olympic Games myself. Oh yes! Wink !

Up to this point and time, TheBigBasicQ, I must admit and daresay that I have not even watched much of the previous Olympics myself ( Sad ). As for the fact that the beautifying main Olympics take place every four (4) years in the summer, now that is MUST-DEFINITELY-SEE-TV if you know what I mean now!

I appreciate your fine reply, and thanks a lot!!

Be sure to please pay a visit to it! While you are there, watch for new and exciting stuff to happen anytime and even regularly, too!! Big Grin !

And finally, do stop by at the all-new “QB Coder’s Tutorials Guild” within my site for all 4 chapters of Relsoft’s current 3D tutorial series plus the showing you of how to submit your own QuickBASIC/QBasic tutorials!! ^_- !
I'd like to watch the Olympics, but I'll be away at band camp soon without television for most of the time. I actually prefer watching the winter olympics, though.
They havent given the Summer Olympics much publicity this year, and considering they havent sold half their tickets and about 6000 hotel rooms are empty, it sounds like it's going to be a bomb. Let's see if there's a rebound like what happened in Sydney.

Even the players are reluctant to join. Stupid terrorists.
The problem with terrorists is that you aren't safe in your home with them around =P.
The real problem is the media force-feeding terror that doesn't actually exist. To neglect security is obviously a brain-dead move, but it's never even remotely as much a problem as the media makes it out to be. Don't blame invisible, nameless, faceless, aka non-existent terrorists...blame the idiotic media.
We can always depend on the media to blow things out of proportion =P
To Adosorken and TheBigBasicQ:

To be no less than honest, guys, I do not even trust the media or the terrorists either, so in a way, I am in positive no-holds-barred agreement with the two of you there. Wink And, you can plain bet that the *already* brutally tight security for the Athens 2004 games has been beefed-up and then plenty, all to keep the terrorists out. Apparently, that I’ll bet is what is probably happening since that fateful 9/11 incident that changed and impacted the whole nation of America like never before back in 2001! That is probably what it is.

And just day before yesterday on digital cable in the US, while I was checking out the “Sports” section of On-Demand (you know, where you select and watch your shows, animé, and movies on-the-fly anytime you want to wherever, WHENEVER! Big Grin ! ), I have discovered the new Olympics section within the category, and out of there, I check out some great NBC olympic previews that tell you about at least some of the games themselves, some athletes that will be returning to them, plus even how to watch them!! And guess what else? The best part about it is that it will be telecast LIVE on SEVEN (7) NBC STATIONS, including two of the first-run newcomers Telemundo (which will *actually* have Spanish-language commentary and voicings!) and USA Network!!! Believe me, watching those On-Demand video presentations were the absolute BEST pieces of television that I ever have seen from yesterday indeed, so if you get a chance, you MUST see ‘em!! ^_- !!

Also, at the time of this writing, the Athens 2004 Olympic Games will begin in just less than only ONE (1) DAY now! And I will be ready. ;*) !!

And to all of you on this one:

For those of you who plan to enter my QBCPC 2004/2005 with Original Category #6 as your selection, I want to point you out to another VALUABLE resource: http://www.nbcolympics.com. There, you will see priceless late-breaking info, videos recapping the SPLENDID 2004 olympic drama as they unfold for themselves, up-to-date medal standings, and tons more!!! Big Grin !!

I will thank you again so much, and I *surely* hope that you are looking forward to as much excitement and drama of the games as I am!! ^_- !!
