I have 2 (free) hotmail accounts, the first I've had for about 7 years and the other for about 2. The first account got a message from MS saying as a 'valued MSN Hotmail Member' they would be increasing my mailbox from 2MB to 250MB, and max attachment size to 10MB. Which happened today and twas good Big Grin But the other account never heard a whisper about it.. and is still 2MB. Wonder how long it takes to become 'valued' (instead of 'expendable').. anyone else get the upgrade?
every one is getting very scared of gmail. and rightly so. everyone wants an account.
Iv got one and it kicks the $hit out of any other of the free mail accounts.
I wonder how big gmails servers are gonna have to be when they go 'public'..

Nnnnnnnnope.
Yeh, Hotmail must be very scared.
They have already lost a lot of people to Gmail, and when Gmail goes public, suspect Hotmail may lose around 40% of their users. Gmail is the next generation of email, and Hotmail will have to really get of their ass to make any kind of a comeback.
They still havnt updated mine, and ive gotten this message they speak off. And mines more then 3 years old.
I have a gmail account but I don't use it much because for some reason it doesn't work in IE6. (And yes, I have everything turned on and I tried it with the lowest security and privacy settings available)
I noticed my yahoo account went from 10meg to 100 megs without any messages or anything(but then I've had it for ages).
They may just be rolling out things slowly..¿

Personally I'm glad that gmail has given them something to think about, but personally wouldn't touch gmail with a barge pole. I only use my yahoo account for spam collecting anyway

Works for me.

I also got an email from hotmail. But it's said nothing about a 250mb upgrade. nor 'valued'

Zack: Do you have ZoneAlam? Sometimes shutting that down helps me when things don't work.

I know someone who had hotmail once... got so much spam it was ridiculous...
I have my hotmail account since Jan, 1999. That is more than 5 years and a half, and I haven't got any updates. And I would like to. THere are better alternatives (yahoo/gmail), but almost everyone knows my hotmail account and it would be a bummer to have to tell 1,000 people to update their addresses books.

Does anyone knows by any chance what accounts do qualify for the upgrade?

I got an email telling me that now paid accounts are 2 Gb with 20 Mb attachments, but nothing else.
