Ok: i'm left with one of two choices:

1) buy server and hook it up to the net, which could be costly, and entail a lot of stuff that I don't know how to do... or

2) Though this is highly unlikely, find someplace with good webhosting.... free, php support, high bandwith, whatever...

is either possible?
just as #1 isn't free, neither is a good #2. Very few free services offer server-side stuff like perl. Expect to pay at the very least $5 a month -- which isn't really that steep. Other option is to purchase a domain and simply have it point to a geocities site...
so, essentially, you get what you pay for...
If you really can't afford a domain name and server then go to brinkster.Fast, free and reliable.I'm not sure about PHP support thought.

If you want to make somekind of QBasic portal like QBasicNews or QB45.com then forget about using free webspace providers.
thinking it over, actually, all I need is someplace to host the PHP scripts... I can link to them from the site I already have.

Comcast gives me 25MB of space for my site, which to me is a lot Big Grin
try www.topcities.com, you can at least get a sub-domain, with no pop-ups, plus there's many free features, and 150 mb Tongue

Probably not going to be around much longer, but if you're lucky you can get an account before they stop accepting new requests or shut down...
