Hi,

I started playing Wolfenstein last night, the very first one that was made in Qbasic I believe... I only have the first out of six episodes though, does anyone know where I can find the others? Or is there any roms out there?

Thanks!
Ummmmmmm.....

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong but... Wolfenstein was NOT made in QBasic. The source code has been distributed by id and it looks very much like C code to me...

*Goes to get his eyes checked*
That depends on whether you're talking about Castle Wolfenstein or Wolfenstein 3D...from what I've heard, Castle Wolfenstein was made in QB...but I've never seen its sourcecode to verify that. Big Grin
Ah that may be it. I just assumed you were talking about Wolfenstein 3D for some reason.
Castle Wolfenstein was released in 1983, two years before QB even existed. A look at the exe reveals it was made with Microsoft C v1.04. (Which was really Lattice C, relabelled by MS...)
Well, you know how rumors fly around. Big Grin
I guess the fact that the author of wolf made a lil textured raycaster in QB(modex) fuelled that rumor. :*)
I'm talking about Wolfenstein 3D...

I thought I read somewhere that one person alone made the engine in QB, and then a company and him merged to make the game...

Or maybe that was Doom..

So, I'm guessing I can't find Wolfenstein anywhere right?
I don't think that happened with Wolf 3D or Doom...the QB program you are thinking of may be Ken Silverman's LABDEMO2.BAS. (Ken worked for Apogee and make a Wolf 3D clone, but it was written in C.)

Anyway, I believe what you are looking for is here.
Someone should write this in the top of every QB site Big Grin

No commencial game by ID software was written in QB!!

Big Grin

(btw, Doom was written using Wacom C and it runs in protected mode).
