Hmm? In logic or something, mathmatics? :???: What ever you need I'll see what I can do..

Eh? I didn't read the rest of this post b4 (got it confused with the Pong AI), but I think there i lot more to animals than we give them credit for,. I sometimes think they are smarter than us,.

We've managed tons of language barriers, yet we have yet figured out how to converse with animals.. I take 'em as another life form (e.i. like all your diff alien dudes in starwars).. not just some random group of matter that just exist..

They can be Happy, sad, depressed, afrade, angry, ect... and alot more that equial human behavier... 8)
Just saying "hey let's code some AI" is just as vague as saying "hey let's go somewhere". Think of a purpose you want to achieve and then read up on existing aritficial intelligence paradigms. "AI" is such an abused and vague term. Smile

In my opinion, the hardest part of all of this is probably finding a use and devising a goal that you want to acheive.

Simple idea for a project though: make a basic optical number recognition program; train a basic neural network with the digits it is supposed to learn and then try to feed it those images with random noise added. Smile

Smile Hmm,.. how bout an animal AI to simulate a animal or something.. you got those Fighting AI's that where brought up earlier,.. Eh, Racecar AI,..... sure there many more to choose from..
I partly agree with you. I think you're right in the programming animal AI would be a good place to start, but. I disagree with you that there needs to be a purpose and a use for it, let's face it, QB is a language that people mainly use for fun, there's no need for this project to have a purpose other than to see how good we can make it. Your point is valid though when you say that finding an use for AI and the number recognition thing is a very kool idea.

Thanks for those links, they are really helpful.

Smile Why not FreeBasic, its much nicer... Big Grin
:barf:

The point Rattra...is to make this a challenge to ourselves not to let some FB do it.

I don't know why I just typed that, I'm a little tired...

Hmmm...animals do not have an intellegence they are not sentient (that is a reference to Star Wars where the committee of Intellegence only gives rights to those organisms that they declare sentient, animals are not one of them, so your example was bad).

They are not random matter, they are adaptive not sentient. They live on instinct but do not think(self-aware thoughtness) they cannot comprehend higher thoughts either. Smile
It's really not a bad idea. The reason most of us QB'rs have left QB is because of FB. The limits are gone now. An AI program could become pretty complex in FreeBASIC. Wink
Eh? Okay, I didn't mean a high being of inteligence, but I don't veiw them as something that live on instinct... they can ponder and think on things, be angry, afriad, depressed, sad, happy........

That doesn't show anywhere where they're not intellegent,... Seriously, I can't take that.... Okay, a example, rather grim sounding but here goes..

I studied and read up on horses for along time.. Come across the diff in stances between a Stallion & Gelding.. Stallions are brisk and stand with there heads high in the air.. Geldings (if done b4 the age of 2) are taller than Stallions but appear shorter because they hold there head at a lesser hight and are not so brisk but mellow... Now every thing I read blamed this on harmones...

But if you really stop and think, Geldings in the right mood can muster the same power as Stallions... Geldings must have the same amont of energy regardless of harmones, so why do they seem less of energy?... geldings know what happened to them, and saying they don't is saying we could cut off their legs and they not know it... they're simi-depressed, yet still go about their day since thats all they know....

They can comprehend changes, react to changes, feel something about the change... the signs are there, ppl just choose to over look them it seems...

*Goes :barf: *
