Quote:they can ponder and think on things, be angry, afriad, depressed, sad, happy........
You don't understand I'm saying they CAN'T ponder. Not just higher thought.

Quote:But if you really stop and think, Geldings in the right mood can muster the same power as Stallions... Geldings must have the same amont of energy regardless of harmones, so why do they seem less of energy?...
A: hormones are chemicals that your body releases to change your physically, stamina is caused by them also adreniline is a hormone. With out any your body would be phisically weak.

Quote:They can comprehend changes, react to changes, feel something about the change... the signs are there, ppl just choose to over look them it seems...
Sounds a lot like a computer but its not self-aware. Dectects changes, analizes changes, react to changes. Animals seen more complex cause they can adapt. Smile
Gelding do not lose all there harmones, they might fall 1 or 2 ranks behind a Mare in levels if done right, and Mares are not to be underminded..

Adrin drops yes, but only enough for a mode change (not interested in Mares) Their power can be euqual to that of a stallion as far as I've seen... maybe not endurance.. Look at "Funni cide" vs "Empiremaker" Gelding vs Stallion respectivly,.. Funni Cide knocked Empire 2 times and the last time was Jokey err...

Geez in a jam I'm hard at explianing my point.... Tongue
Oh I got it. Big Grin

You made a few contradictions in there.

ex. first you say they drop in energy cause they can think that they are injured then you say they do it cause their adrenalin drops and thats physical not mental.

Physically animals + humans are VERY close to the same. heh...Animals in many ways are superior in physical sense too.
Smile Like I said, hard to explain when in a jam..

They don't think they are injured!!! They know they got there nuts cut off and keep mixed feelings of simi depression yet go about there humble day as normal..

If they are as you say, then whats their use in the world? My freind owns a horse, and I'm pretty sure she would like you calling her horse unintelegent!!! Tongue

And my dog, that includes me dog, she herself is not unintelegent,. I've seen her do things, that if she was uninteligent, couldn't do.. Tongue
I'd like to back up ratra on his point about dogs. Have you never watched a dog dream? Dreams are spawned by random creativity, not instinct because there's no survival instinct that requires dreams. Creativity is another building block in the big triangle (excuse the crappy metaphor) that makes up intelligence.

Second of all, why the hell are you arguing about whether or not animals are intelligent. I think that Sigmund Freud would say that on a subconcious level you are all procastinating about actually getting down to programming some AI because you're so daunted by it. This is okay, it daunts me to, however, if you're gonna argue with each other, at least make it be about what the right way to go about this is. Otherwise, bounce your code and ideas around here.

Jack :bounce:
Smile Can't rightly say we're arguing,.. I'm disagreeing with him, but not arguing... Really, it would not be pretty if I was actully mad...

Heh, I take if we team up, Mitth, your going to want to use QB Sad ,.. heh, okay, at least I can code in FBIDE and still make a QB app,. Big Grin .. When do you want to try to brainstorm?

We still havn't yet set a distination with this, what type of AI do we make?
My idea is that we should create a fairly simple enviroment (the graphics need not be dazzling unless somone wants to do that) and an agent/bot (i don't know the correct terminology) that knows some simple rules about its enviroment and give it the ability to remember good techniques for retrieving things (eg, food) and see how that goes, gradually increasing the enviroment with more and more parameters and finding ways to let the bot find its own way about things. Eventually we could move on to having multiple bots in there that could interact and pass on advise etc. Once we have mastered that we could think what the next task is.

Jack
Ok but I must still comment.
Quote:They don't think they are injured!!! They know they got there nuts cut off and keep mixed feelings of simi depression yet go about there humble day as normal..
That's sounds to me you just said that they are unintellegent.
Quote:If they are as you say, then whats their use in the world? My freind owns a horse, and I'm pretty sure she would like you calling her horse unintelegent!!!
A: Cause they're there they don't have to have a use to exsist (accually for us to use and to eat). Also on that second sentence that's just human emotion of bonding to the animal.
Quote:And my dog, that includes me dog, she herself is not unintelegent,. I've seen her do things, that if she was uninteligent, couldn't do..
As I said they're not morons but they are not intellegent. The complexity of there minds are far superior to computers cause they can adapt menteally to survive in there environment. It creats the illusion of it. Oh ya I have a dog too Big Grin .

Don't think that I don't love the animals they are great forms of life. Just that they are arn't capable of the kind of intellegent thought that you are associating them with.

Quote:in·tel·li·gence (n-tl-jns)
n.

The capacity to acquire and apply knowledge, especially toward a purposeful goal.
An individual's relative standing on two quantitative indices, namely measured intelligence, as expressed by an intelligence quotient, and effectiveness of adaptive behavior.
:o Well by that definition....they're intellegent...oh well  I concede.
To Jack:
Smile Heh, that sounds good, Jack,.. Already I'm getting a sence on wow to code something like that..

To Mitth:
HA! Mitth, finially your trusty dictionary let you down.. Use your advance intelegence and ponder on this for some extra-cred on contradicting me in the first place:

I go and feed my dog one day. My dog is rather lazy and prefers to lay and eat. This leads her to tip the bowl and pour the food into her reach.

This time, however, her bowl was next to a bunch of papers. She began to tip the bowl, but it started to spill into papers.. She stopped, looked at the papers, then moved them away with her paw.. After that, spilled her food and ate..

Something with no intel would have not seen the papers as a consern for losing food (or making it harder for them to lay and eat the food (having to stand and dig thru the papers for lost food))..
Instinct, but I said I concede!

Lets move on to the AI shall we?

How about a game like SimAnt? (BTW bot is the correct term) You take control of a colony of ants where you must:
1. take out the red ants
2. drive the humans from the house.

You must get food so your queen can make eggs which hatch to ants. There are spiders + lawn mowers + enemy ants + pesticides that you have to advoid to win. I think that creating a bot for that is a good place to start. Big Grin
