Every year, I hold a competition called TAC: Text Adventure Compo. It's a one-month competition, in the month of December, where developers create a text adventure from scratch in any language of their choosing. Last year's compo fell apart unfortunately.
Hopefully this year will bode better results.

A text adventure game is where the entire game is in words, and you play the game with written commands, such as PICK UP KEY or EAT SANDWICH. For TAC'04, you're allowed to make the game as long or short as you like...naturally, longer games have the potential of being better, but nothing sucks more than a long game that just drags on and on and on and on and on...
Josiah competed in the first one I held a couple of years ago, and in my opinion, wrote the best one. No voting ever took place though because there were only three entrants.

Sorry. I do know what text adventure games is. What i wondered
was what kinds of "problems" (=puzzles, aim, point of view, whatever)
will fit in the "adventure" category
Does any language include c#?
I suppose so, but I'd figure I would ask since c# programs require the .NET framework installed.
It's essentially open content, so you can write it based on whatever you want. I understand your question but have no idea why you're asking it.
A text adventure is a text adventure...as long as the game follows normal text adventure guidelines, it's legal. As far as C# goes...most people nowadays, especially coders, have the .net framework installed (at least 1.1, some of us more sadistic types have the 2.0 beta installed
) so that's no problem.
