I tried VB once, but it got confusing... all I know is Qbasic and it doesn't really translate all that fluently with VB or C++ or anything... I'm kinda-sorta trying to learn C++, but it's slow going, I want to just type PRINT "Hello, World" but ... :'( My friend tells me to get away from Qbasic... he says there's no 'practical applications.' Pshh.

Well, there isn't. Except as a coding scratchpad. But it's still a hell of a lot of fun to make games with and play with graphics.

Qb has some practicle applications, but in todays world, everyone wants 'faster than that', and 'shiny colours'. QB w/ASM can do almost anything windows stuff can subtracting some speed, of course, or user friendly-ness. My boss might want to use it for inventory for his local computer store - its not huge, but we'd be able to keep track of incoming and outgoing things very easily. Since QB is probably one of the most easy languages to prgram in - you can code something simple very quickly.
