Got a problem here. Both QB 4.5 and 7.1 can't turn my game into an EXE. When it tries, a message says nmesprite(5,40,40) is data-memory overflow. I assume that array is my problem. But the game runs fine out of QB. Anyone know? Sad
Lotsa wierd things happen when QB45 makes .exe's. There are plenty of other forums around this site asking similar questions, just take a look in the "General Programming Help" Forum for something promising... however I guarantee you someone will have had the same prob and will tell you how to fix it (I haven't had the prob and I am on a school pc so no qbasic to check  )
Have you allocated the memory using the $DYNAMIC metacommand?

Check it out in QB Help

IT WORKED! Big Grin God bless you, Meg! You'll go in the credits for sure. Thanks oracle, too. Smile
Cool, man, what did I tell ya Big Grin

Email me your game and I take a look :o
I'll post it here when it's done, but right now all I have is combat, magic, 4 maps, 3 monsters, 12 weapons and 8 armors.... Working on the store system now. However, I still have to put in the party system (multiple enemies was hell, so I can't imagine how this is gonna be Sad ), a LOT more variety of enemies, the whole storyline, and all the maps that go with the storyline, though maps are easy. I'm hoping to finish for the beginning of summer. Smile It's hard thinking up an original storyline, though. I have a general idea in mind but that's about it.
Sounds like an rpg... What were you compiling for anyways?

Good luck with your game - I fall into the category of people who have never made an rpg despite making lotsa othe stuff.
If you run into any memory problems, Jeffi0, send me an email at Jasmydae@hotmail.com. I've just spent about a month working on a memory problem I had with a game I was working on, so I feel like I must know the stuff inside and out, now.
