I was going to ask about some utilities for Darkbasic but I guess that's a dead issue as nobody seems to like for all he bugs in it.
was dark basic made by a 16 year old indian kid?
Darkbasic isn't dead. It was never alive.

It never existed....

NEVER!!!

Why did you make this post.
Sorry it will never happen again!
I was at a university once at a technology fair because they had a game programming comptetion. There were suppose to be 3 teams that showed up. Only 2 showed up. I was 1 team (just myself), and the other team had two people. Sadly they used DarkBasic as the language to program in. I didn't know anything about it, but atleast they gave me a reference book. I think I had 3 hours, and it that amount of time I came up with a really pathetic version of a scorched earth clone. The other team by then had some 3D ship wandering around collecting orbs. And for some reason I got the feeling I was going to win; maybe it was something the judge said. We both got the blue 1st place ribbons, but of course the other team won and got the box with all the "cool stuff" in it. O well, life moves on I guess. :'(
i wasnt mad. i was just wondering if you 'were going to make a post but then thought it was ' then how come you made this post in the first place.

anyways
theres this kid at my school (mike) who used darkbasic pro. i dont like it just for these reasons

unprofessional gui
slow
not really...lol, but it does have a good book by primedia press, wish they would make a book for qbasic, lol.... actually...darkbasic is really dead..its hard to find demo programs, and hard to find people interested in it, thats why i stuck w/ qbasic, and now freebasic is here and can use directx...or opengl, so i guess there's really no need for darkbasic anymore....to bad i already bought the book Sad
Surely that book has some OpenGL references in it... You could just study those to prepare for FreeBASIC. Wink
actually darkBASIC was made to use only directX so, sadly no Cry no info on openGL , but i do have a book by primedia press that has really wonderful stuff on openGL, and i'm studyin hard :bounce:
