I'm making a simple gui for FreeBasic using sdl, and was thinking maybe there's some who's interested in participating in the project?
I already have done a lot myself (windowing engine, objectsystem) but there's a whole mutch more still to do.
Abou it: simple independent gui library providing different objectbased widgets(meaning: non of the widgets are hardcoded into the gui "kernel", and are easily to add/remove/replace)
Porpuse? Well non so far :lol: but seriously, it could be used to simply creating simple cross-platform gui driven applications, it works both in fullscreen and windowed mode, so ultimately in Linux it "could" be :lol: used as a main gui...

I've looked awhile ago into 'aedgui' and liked the concept, because it's build on top of SDL and you can use Widgets and 2D and 3D stuff (through OpenGL) on the same time. But it's only usable with C++.
Is your engine able to mix 2D/3D/GUI ?
How far do you like to push the envelope ?
I would be intersted in helping, but I've never used SDL for serious projects, only coded a few 'example style' stuff with it.
I'm a Windows GUI guy, so I don't know if I would meet your expectations.

it's sdl, every window has an sdl_surface -so yes, it should be possible to mix ogl into it, no theming, but that's not becouse it's not possible -it's just a matter of modeling objects to be themable.
yes, AedGui looks interesting, though I never got it to work -maybe becouse of lack of really trying. I don't know how far, at least as far as aedGui is, and further :king:

and sdl is simple, I'v done a simple addon lib to sdl too, that adds primitives like line, pset, and etc...
