Um, yeah, yesterday my mouse went off the deep end. TG for alterate keybaord functions.. but, this is crazy!

Where there is a scroll bar my mouse goes crazy. I move it onto what ever app with a bar and the mouse makes the bar go up'n'down like a mad man..

heh, whats up with my mouse? got a new one, and it still loony. :???:
:o ...Umm accually I'm NOT surprised.....Well:

I still say ditch the computer considering a lighting bolt shot out of it, you replaced the moniter with a DELL, got a HP CPU, a sticky keyboard, now a crazy mouse............

Sooo...I would try rebooting...er...try cold booting (that's rebooting but you turn off the whole computer and wait 15 secs. before turning it on)....if that HP can handle that. Tongue

If not then there's something wrong with your mouse I guess because the computer's programmiong of the mouse should be the same....mabey a button in its circutry got stuck down....You should replace the mouse I think.
Actully I fried the DELL monitor to, back to HP now..

I got a new mouse that worked fine on my other comp, it still crazy, its the driver info, software.. and trust me, I've rebooted almost everyway posible..

New comp, I wish, or maybe, I'm 100 to 200 $$ shy of a much nicer one, 32 n ready for 64bit,. but then I'd have no allowance saved anymore. I don't mind denting my savings, but I hate taking the whole thing.. oh well,.. it been on my mind for awhile....

Still, any1 know what can fix my mouse's software of this bug or whatever it is???
Is it an optical mouse? My optical mouse goes jerky sometimes
for no apparent reason -something with the sensor...
Mine too but its not consistant, it stops.
Nope, just you standerd every day rollerball mouse,. but this is software not hardware, as I've said, I changed to a almost brand new mouse after it came up in hopes of fixing it..

No luck, odd tho I works fine in Safe Mode, and in MS DOS, but under normal Win Apps, it goes wacko, and doen't stop but every odd moment when I forget about it and bring the pointer into the window, but once I click somthing, off it goes again..

It doesn't even have to touch the scroll bar,.. so?? :???:
Try unplugging the mouse, uninstalling the drivers (Start->Settings->Control Panel->System->Advanced->Device Manager->Mouse->Properties->Uninstall Driver - something like this route anyway). Then plug the mouse back in and let Windows deal with installing the default drivers.

Might help... you know what devices are like sometimes. Smile

Hmm, brute force, I like it, I'll go do that now... heh, the least that could go wrong is I lose the mouse all togetter, but I've done that b4, no worries..

EDIT: I Fixed it!!!!! I didn't exactly do it like you suggested Shift, but you advice took me right to the problem... when I went to drop the mouse driver, I noticed somthing strange... there were 3 subdrivers, how odd...

I looked at it and saw I had 2 mouse drivers, then I remembered I was trying a none HP mouse just a few days ago, so I dropped that 1 and rebooted.... My Mouse Works!! Nomore Tab!!!!! :rotfl: Thanks for all your help!!! Big Grin
how the hell did 3 drivers get installed :o
