I have been playing around with the clever DOSBOX, resurrecting some lovely old DOS games I thought I would never get to run again on the latest Windows. Lately I have been experimenting using DOSBOX to run old DOS software to play sound files such as CMFs using the Scream Tracker Ver.3.01 Beta etc. I have put up a few of these files along with another player to download from

This is a collection of files that will almost certainly no longer run using the latest versions of Windows. Instead you need to download DOSBOX from http://dosbox.sourceforge.net
TRAN.EXE is an old DOS Speech Synthesizer, where you can control the sound duration and pitch, to match the CPU; but modern CPUs run much too fast now, so hence the need for DOSBOX
TALKER.EXE is a little QuickBasic compiled mouse activated program to help run TRAN.
PLAY.COM is a DOS program that should play the variety of sound files included such as Mod, CMF, VOC , WAV etc.
PLAYRUN2.EXE also compiled with QuickBasic to help select files for PLAY above.
The code for Talker and Playrun2 is also included
