I need an algorithm that will solve for the cube root or the nth root of a number. I can do it, but it requires quite a bit of looping and incrementing. This is very time consuming. Is there an easier way?

To get the nth root:
number ^ (1 / n)
the n-th root of a number x is simply x^(1/n)
