Just a silly topic cause nobody may remember to me as i write rarely, but i am glad to say that my situation changed in a really positive way what made it possible to countine my already four years old programming history! So that Running Cheetah could be refounded (here is it

This includes that i can now tell that this "Spotted Cheetah" is not my first appear here. When the original Running Cheetah Software stood i was here as KingCheetah.
(I hope that now i can log in as KingCheetah to show, but it was more than a year when i last typed that password...)

Rebuilding RC(S) is a slow process for me as a Linux distro screved the things up on my P233, and took many days to fix, but now things are working. But now i will be away from that computer for a possibly longer time :-? But finally all the sources i wrote as KingCheetah will be there to download including XBasic Panthera! And of course the things i wrote at Hungarian Big Cat Society too with source as well.

I will rework the tutorials as well, and build some on programming based on that enormous amount of source pieces what piled up on my HDD. I hope i will make it one day. Long, long, many work :-?

Thanks, i am on it Between reinstalling Windows, moving the computer, and everything else :-? .

(Two weeks ago i almost lost the ENTIRE THING because of a buggy Linux distro. Finally i did not lost anything, but spent almost a week on achieving that. Of course i have backups - on floppies, so it would be extremely hard to reproduce things if once they pass. That time i had to buy some CDs, copy all of my HDD on it, and format it from BIOS to make it able to accept a Windows system again. It was not my fault since i had the appropriate Linux partitions ready - boot, swap, root - but the installer thought that it can do it better... Then BANG!)

I think i will speed up at least a little the rebuilding from now, but i have to concentrate on many other things including the software development itself. I would be happy if you tested (Hope you will know what i mean: i am so tired that i can not find the appropriate conditional) the rebuilt portion of the pages with some unusual browsers if you have such thing. I currently have Netscape 4.7, 6.0 beta, 7.0; Mozilla 1.1 (approximately = Netscape 7.0); Opera 7; Ms IE 5.0. On an other computer sometimes i can look at the pages from the newest Mozilla and Ms. IE versions.

Cool BG, be even neater if you could separate it from the page, so it stays still and the page goes over it like its floating... those are cool.. :wink:

It would work only in Ms. IE, so it would not really have any purpose. I might look it up, but i do not want to make so big difference between the page's lookings.
Currently the only thing what is only for IE is that the scrollbars are recolored like on the original page. On the other side Mozilla does the JavaScript much better, and it never halted Windows for me like Ms. IE.

The Cheetah - spotted buttons and the King Cheetah picture in their background is a "very old" thing, i only revorked that to be table based instead of the original DIV mess. The stars forming Cheetahs on the software page are possibly more older, but the design there is new. The colors were reordered too to look better: the original texts were dull - gray, or monocolored (like 00BB00 or CC0000, now they are being mixed like CC6644 what makes the page looking better).

sc, you could've asked for help if the Linux distro f*cked things up. I know I should've when FreeBSD did the same to me...

TheBigBasicQ, i would be glad if you, or anybody else helped me, but there i had not
access to network. Possibly it might sound strange for some of you, but in Hungary
it is not so easy. I have not got any bad feeling to Linux because of this, i had
done more horrid things during installing, but this was the first time when it was
not my fault. Finally, from Linux again (I have got 2 old distros, one is bad, and
one what made that mess, and one new Linux - on - CD style thing) i could learn that
they can not set up Windows partitions appropriately so from then i knowed what i
had to do with my BIOS formatted HDD. It is an other story how i could achieve that...

(Now i decided to get an old small HDD from somewhere to not fall in such situation
again, then i will install the distro what made the mess. It is a good one after it
is put on the machine: to give a try i compiled the kernel with it for my use -
just a question: XVAWE QS3000A sound card. What the hell should i do with it? I could
not feed it as a sound blaster compatible)


Back to the subject: i made an update recently. Not really for the page: i included
two of my programs (Kicsi Kocsi 1.50 TC, 100% QB FM Midiplayer; Kicsi Kocsi 1.30 QB
was there) with source code. If anybody is interested i will put up the 140Kb big
XBasic source code of my game Panthera too soon. I reworked the logo (again - 5th
logo of RC(S)) and the background image created from it (What a hard stuff! Took more
than 2 hours). One of the next huge projects will be rewriting the entire HTML
tutorial, and during that to work on the drawing app (Last program of the list).
Sorry, i will not give that for free, just for unlimited trial - again a long
subject...

So i would more like to live on programming than doing any regular job since i think
my capabilites are so huge that i think i have not to waste that for someone who
just wants to build his eleventh castle from my work. My power should be released for
everybody! - and through that hopefully for the Cheetahs themselves later... So this
would be why i want to get money for that drawing program when it will be ready.

Do not worry about these, i will do them, but will keep on releasing many things
really for free. But later if you not want me to waste myself on these useless
things - i mean useless, since their value will be surely much less than what i
would do as an independent programmer - pay it. Again not worry about this now, i
just wrote down as it belongs to RC(S)' refounding too.

When i wrote "castle" i would like to mean "palace". It just come from that
Hungarian not distinguishes these two terms so deeply like in English:
sometimes we call "castles" what are just "palaces" and vice versa.
