Hello all =)

Yesterday I suddenly somehow felt like making a song, although I never did anything like that before. Was busy with it today, and I think it sounds acceptable for my first song ^_^

I just wondered what your opinion about it is, and although you can say anything you want (music = subjective), please take into account it's the first ever song of mine Wink

You can download Neo - Galaxia @ harsoft.

Please tell me what you think =)

I already got 3 opinions:
Quote:some samples repeat too much
need proper bridges
need less repetition
and better fadeins / fadeouts

Quote:{translated from dutch to english}
it's too static i think
it sounds a bit like the same everywhere
BUT, it may be very well suited for game music Tongue

Quote:this is a killer song man Big Grin
it's great, awesome, prime, numero uno, da bomb...in other words, it's really good Smile
well you seem to have some natural talent, you should see if you can make use of it
(didn't you want game music btw nek? Tongue)

Anyone, please tell me your opinion ^_^
Why does it seem like I'm the only one that just can't get this music-making thing down? None of the software seems to like me. =[

It's very nice for your first song, and a good song in general. I think it's a bit too long, though, since the melody doesn't change that much.
I'm listening to it now. Seems pretty good so far, but it is a slight bit repetitive. Catchy, though.
Well for your first song, it's really quite good (unless um... did you use loops apart from that one backing drum part...? Some of it sounds like loops to me), but yes it is quite repetative, and there's a few weird bits with the progression of it... For example, the part that starts around 3 minutes (I think), goes on for too long, seems to be... argh... dunno the right words for this... I guess I can use patterns in Modplug tracker, if anyone gets what I mean and can translate it... Let's say that part I was talking about was a pattern in modplug. As it stands, I think it would repeat 6 times, with the buildup on the 6th and final pattern. However, that seems to the listener like you're going to go in and repeat it 8 times, but then it cuts short of it. What I would do (seeing as this happens several times throughout the song) is make it repeat 4 times with the buildup on the 4th and final pattern. (I realize that whole bit could be intentional, and 'standard' pacing isn't always good, but it was just bugging me and kinda seemed like it sounded 'wrong')

The song is just about 6 minutes, but it could be cut down to 3 and a half and get rid of much of the repitition. A good song doesn't have to be overly long...

Oh, and one other thing I found just a touch off was the fact that the atmospheric pads were so quiet later on, and the drumloop was almost drowning them out.
