I would like to ask since i could not get anything about this: will FreeBasic ever support writing programs for original real mode DOS? (I not mean here to implement the old screen modes, and all the stuff, simply to skip switching to protected mode and make working code for it). I ask this because i only programmed QB because it was some real retro thing. I THINK I WILL NEVER PROGRAM IN BASIC ANYMORE WITHOUT REAL MODE (I JUST WROTE THIS ALL CAPS BECAUSE OF THAT EVILISH PROTECTED MODE WINXP SWITCHED ON SOMETHING FOR ME WHAT RESULTS THIS UNTIL I REBOOT  ).
FreeBasic is made to advance QB.

A 16bit FB would be slower and less functional than QB.

Stick with QB if you want retro.

Not to mention FB is only a few months old, and hardly retro.

Sorry.
What Z!re said..

How about a 6502 version so we could make some NES games in FB? -- note: i'm not been serious, really :P

I'd prefer 64-bit RISC... Big Grin
Maybe a C64 port, down with modern CPU's!
Well, In fact I have somewhere my Timex-Sinclair Spectrum 48K and I was wondering if you could....A version for cassette tape, please. Big Grin
I'd like a version on 160 Kb 8" floppy drive for my IBM Series 5000 if you don't mind....oh and it has to fit in 16KB of ram too ;-)
I wouldn't mind FB for the hu6280... Wink

...oh wait...that's what HuC is for...d'oh.
I'm happy...

I dont know what half of the things you guys just said mean.

Guess I havent completely succumbed to the world of geekyness
Hey v1c, someone already wrote an NES compiler though Wink so you're too late on that one anyways...guess you better stick to being current.
