My graphics card, nVidia GeForce 2 GTS Pro 32MB, died.
So I ordered a new one.
While waiting, I ripped a card from one of my other computers/servers.

Here it is:

It cant do FBGFX over 640x480 XD

But I hear it can do DOS games splendidly Tongue

See, this is just typical!
FB comes out with highres and win32 support and all, and ofcourse my win32 card dies, and I replcae it with a kickass DOS card
I bet you planned it all v1c!
Dayim! How would you be! Firstly, I'd be pretty p**sed that my GFX card died in the first place, knowing how expensive they are to buy. Then you think, "Yeh, replace it with another one" only to find it won't do standard VGA resolutions with FB.

You know something? I'm simply repeating you. :bounce: YAY for me!

anarky has a nVidia GeForce 4 440MX SE 64MB PCI GFX card. Cost: AU$140. Usefullness: almost none except for the odd game.
I'm waiting for my card:
AOpen GeForce FX5500 256Mb DDR TV-out DVI

~USD150
Hah! Thats not a patch on my 1mb beast!
You could always just go to ebay and buy a decent gfx card for 10-30 dollars. However, since you already got a few gfx card...
99% of eBay is american

To ship fom the US here would defeat the purpose, not to mention I run like 60% chance of being fucked

Besides, might as well buy a new one, going to need it for the new computer anyways.
That sound very simular...

My comp did sound nicly back when it was only QB... yet without a SB I had no sound in my games exept PLAY.. Sad

Then FB came out, I find out, download, not a month later.. comp screws up, acted out safe mode 24/7.. fixed it only to find it damaged several pictures used a wallpaper,.. and no,.. NO!!!.. my sound. Cry

You should feel lucky, I dout mine can be repaired so easily as yours..

Died? is the card found at boot/POST/BIOS? is it just a driver issue? if you are desperate check trift stores and second hand stores that sell electronics; you might be ale to find a vid card there.
Outputed video was messed uptried with different screens, exact same thing.
Even in BIOS textmode.

As it turns out, the fan on the card had died, the card overheated.
Thats a scary thought. My fan fails to even start spinning sometimes, and i have to quickly rip the cover off and turn it manually til it fires.
Then if all is well, it may or may not make a lot of whining. I know the fan is on the way out. I try to just keep it going.

You really need to identify every sound your computer makes and ensure it sounds the same each time. If it seems to sound wrong, open it up and check it out before your next thing that dies happens to be the CPU..
