i got my 36" tv hooked up as a secondary monitor, trouble is, when i run a program, like a gfx demo such as ones from
www.pouet.net

they only run on my monitor, how could i get them to run on both my monitor and my tv screen!?

my card is as follows

sapphire radeon 7000 64mb w/ dual monitor support

pppplllllllleeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssseeeeee hhheeeelllppppppp!!!!!
Which OS are you using? If you're using Windows then are you using Windows' default drivers or ATi's drivers?
windows xp pro, and i'm using ati's latest catalyst
I think the video card you have supports "dual" as in either a pc monitor OR a tv screen. I have had cards like this before and I'm pretty sure you will not get the "extended desktop" support from it. You might want to check the mnf website or email their tech support.
well, i have extended desktop, for example, i can drag my web browser over to my tv and have half of it on my tv, and the other half on my monitor, but i cant get certain applications to run exclusivly on the secondary monitor (tv) like gfx demos and stuff.. and that was the reason i even hooked it up... aaaaahh!

*runs off in distance yelling incohesive babble
Run DXDIAG from the command prompt and see if it gives you any options for activating hardware level directx on the secondary monitor. I am just trhowing suggestions as I am running a system with a paltry single-monitor display.
I have a dual monitor layout, using both the onboard SiS chipset on my 15" VGA monitor i use as secondary, and my nVidia GF4/64 on the 17" SVGA. Extended desktop etc

I have the same problem as xteraco with certain programs. The thing is that 99% of software is designed only for one monitor.

My suggestion is make a game or program that can utilize both a single and dual monitor support.

>anarky
heh, yeah, i should make a windwos program, that switches the highest priority program... or whatever is on top to the secondary monitor and back on a hotkey press!

actually, i've been looking for software like that all day, but have failed miserably, but i did find a tide me over

my gfx card just plain flat out doesent support theatre features, so no overlay, or whatever, wich means i cant get same display on my secondary monitor as on primary, so... in real time, i jsut bring up the screen propertys tab, and switch my tv over to primary monitor and then double clik the proggie i wanna run, thats about all i can do for now . . . thnx for all your guy's help tho Big Grin
