i was wandering the microsoft website (home of the devil) and came across visual studio 2005... like the vb.net giveaway last year, you don't pay for it, not for tax or shipping and handling... i mean, it's free, they mail it to you, so i thought, "what the heck?" and sent for it.

Is anyone else going to? I could always make due with more cd's...
Not me...I've already made a conscious effort to avoid all so-called "advances" in Microsoft's bloated compilers and have made a lifelong committment to tell .net to kiss my arse. FB eats VS for breakfast. 'nuff said. Big Grin

amen to that, brotha. Smile
URL?
I'm a dotNet disbeliever myself, but I ordered this beta.

I assume it's the usual expireware sort of thing with most public beta software (unlike the not-so-distant giveaway of VB.Net.2003.Standard). Did anybody bite on those "Express" betas? Are they expireware as well?

BTW - Anybody know if this comes on CDs or is it on a DVD?
yep, express is expireware as well. Checked on it last night looking for free stuff that wasn't expireware. I just got the c++ toolkit 2003, which is just the c++ compiler.

I forget... was the vb.net giveaway expireware? I haven't installed mine yet b/c i don't want to install the .net framework on my computer right now... not until i buy a new machine.
