Who do you think is smarter? The prehistoric or the "us." I beleive it was the prehistoric. I will explain after you kill eachother over it.

I think the prehistoric too, since they were most likely smart enough to post things in the correct forums.

Us, not being dead, are probably the winners.

Technically, we are smarter. As far as we know.
However, being smart and being intelligent are two different things. :wink:
EDIT: Jofers: Ah, but imagine 2,000 years from now: A poll, asking whether the (then) present day humans are smarter than 'the humans of the 1990s/00s'. Someone could well say what you've said... I guess another analogy would be (if it were possible) a poll during the prehistoric era asking whether the prehistoric humans were smarter than the apes they evolved from. Same thing could be said. :wink:

True. It all depends on knowledge vs. brain capacity. Physically, we should be evenly matched, considering people sort of stopped evolving when we developed society and starting making it to 30/40yrs old. Like that movie 'Encino Man' with Polly Shore. Man, that was a funny movie.

Actually, social evolution, physical evolution, psychic evolution, are all the same.

Example: Wild dogs

Alone they perform like crap, feed of small animals or whatever dead thing they come across.
Then they evolved to form packs.
Now they're more efficient etc..


So, why is it evolution with animals, but "social" with humans?

By evoloution i think they are refering to adaptation. Humans no longer have anything to adapt to, thats why we do not change form as much, but we still are changing form.

EXAMPLE: People are being born with there toes in different forms to adapt to wearing shoes. that si evoloution in a way.

Humans of today in first world nations are both more knowlegable and more intelligent than people of the past.

Compared to prehistoric hunter-gatherers, or agrarian societies, our diet is much more complete, and diet has been proven to have a significant effect on intelligence -- People in third world nations who suffer from malnutrition (relative to the varied first-world diet) often have IQs which are dozens of points lower than in first world countries.

Go to Japan and tell me you dont have to adapt, or any other foreign country..

Take something as simple as learning how to do negative math (2-5 = -3) very unnatural.. we adapt to accept it..



But as humans, we feel we're above everthing else, we're the best, the top, the 1337.. We're not like those pathetic lowly animals!
