If it turns out to be as hackable as my X-Box, I'll sign on. Otherwise, I wouldn't be suprised if the next "console" I buy is a small formfactor PC with a custom designed case and a custom OS. The idea of a PC with four USB ports on the front and a hacked up version of Windows as the OS is interesting, and I think with the power of FreeBASIC, I could do more with such a system than I could with some piece of hardware locked into someone elses definition of "software".

anyways the Xbox 360 has some insain spec's i mean the cpu from a software devople prespective like 3 way hyperthreading.
hey does the xbox os (Windows cement i think) does it have directX drivers? if it did maybe a freebasic port would be worth it.

The specs are quite sane. But I think PCs will finally be beaten by these boxes. We won't be able to get even similar performance while gaming on PCs.

After 20 years in the game nintendo has less market then the xbox. I think they should fire all their pr people. Why does nintendo always take good hardware and make it handicapped? What's with that? Like the GBA, they took a 100 Mhz ARM cpu and clocked it to 16 Mhz. Then they added 200 kb of ram at time where 256 MB was standard. Seriously, i dunno what the hell nintendo is doing.
